AI add-on empowers teachers with content and assessment assistance within the Edsby platform
Richmond Hill, Ontario (April 29, 2025) – Edsby®, the multi award-winning K-12 learning and analytics platform, has introduced its Teacher AI Assistant, a new add-on designed to streamline educators’ workflows by integrating AI into the Edsby environment to speed time-consuming tasks for teachers.
Content features include:
- Text composition: Teachers using Edsby can generate or enhance age-appropriate content for their classes, including full prose from point form bullets or a simple written request.
- Content translation: Posts, journals and more can be translated into other languages for parents, made longer or shorter, more professional, or even fun, e.g. in the style of Dr. Seuss.
- Summarize: Long, complex conversations in Edsby classes or groups can be summarized.
Assessment features include:
- Quiz creation: Full online quizzes with teachers’ choices of question types can be generated. Quizzes are generated based on curriculum and/or standards associated with a class. Teachers don’t need to load anything.
- Writing critique: Text grading is accelerated with grammatical, structure and stylistic comments generated for teacher review and potential use.
- Report card comments: Comments on report cards can be generated from teacher notes and bullet points. Positive, asset-based language identifying areas for improvement can be generated.
“Edsby’s Teacher AI Assistant is like having someone to bounce assessment ideas off. We can get stuck in terms of the types of quiz questions we ask. Edsby AI can nudge us in directions we hadn’t considered,” said Dan Mielke, a school principal at North East School Division in Saskatchewan, Canada that uses Edsby for staff at its 22 schools, its 5,000 students and their parents.
Edsby developed the assistant to enhance the efficiency of educators while protecting student data security and privacy. Its managed approach, centralizing queries through Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service, ensures teachers don’t accidentally jeopardize student data by using public generative AI services such as Gemini, ChatGPT, Llama and others that are trained with public data.
The Teacher AI Assistant is an optional add-on for Edsby customers and is available now. It is priced competitively versus other similar solutions.
