Edsby partners with Veracross at independent K-10 school

Since 2015, Edsby has powered assessment, learning management, family communication and more for Canada’s Unionville College.

Across four campuses just north of Toronto, Canada, the organization applies its unique blend of Montessori, elementary, secondary, and advanced-level classes for its community of 1,200 K-10 students.

In 2024, Unionville College transitioned its student information system to the Veracross system popular among independent schools. Edsby remained the primary interface for teachers, students, admins and parents. Even though the organization performed a “heart transplant” when moving to Veracross, it didn’t miss a beat, thanks to Edsby.

Dallas Kachan

Dallas Kachan is VP of Marketing at Edsby. He has led, worked with or consulted to dozens of technology firms in Silicon Valley and Canada over thirty years. He was the original vice president of sales and marketing for SoftArc, developers of FirstClass, credited as one of the first internet-based LMSes. Dallas was managing director and head of global marketing for the Cleantech Group, the organization that founded the cleantech investment theme, and served on the board of the U.C. Berkeley Haas School of Business’ Cleantech Institute. He is the author of the travel and adventure novel, The Starship Diaries.
