Edsby Introduces Support for Trevlac Student Information System

Popular Canadian SIS is the latest supported by Edsby for K-12 school and district back-end data synchronization

ONTARIO, Canada (May 13, 2015) – Edsby®, an innovative cloud-based education engagement platform that connects K-12 students, teachers and parents using smartphones, tablets and the web, now synchronizes with The School Administrator™ from Trevlac Computer Services Ltd., a student information system (SIS) popular in regions of Canada.

Edsby gives K-12 schools and districts running Trevlac SISes a contemporary, high performance way to share and interact with data that normally resides only in the SIS, including class schedules, attendance data, grades, discipline information and more. Edsby offers this information to students, parents, teachers and administrators via a modern browser or mobile device, and adds social classroom features, a powerful gradebook, school news, course planning, group collaboration, report card functionality and more.

The Edsby platform was carefully designed to leverage K-12 school districts’ existing critical systems. Edsby synchronizes with SISes for student, teacher, class, schedule, attendance and other content, and takes advantage of other existing systems for user authentication and other elements. Edsby synchronizes with a wide variety of SIS systems, from market leaders to even custom SISes.

“We were surprised how easy it was to connect our Trevlac SIS to Edsby, and our students and parents are loving Edsby,” said Dave Hecock, Vice Principal of Crestwood Preparatory College, a multi-campus private school in Toronto, Canada. Crestwood’s Trevlac SIS populates Edsby classes and groups with the right students so teachers don’t have to do any data entry. “As students and teachers arrive or leave, or if they change classes, those changes are reflected in Edsby,” said Dave. “I can’t imagine deploying something on such a large scale without it being integrated with our SIS.”

“We’re pleased to offer our customers choices in how they expand the capabilities of the SIS that is at the heart of their systems,” said Trevlac CEO Peter Calvert. “As an open platform, we embrace best-in-class solutions like Edsby, especially when they enable schools and districts to continue to leverage their SIS investment.”
