Managing the News River
Everyone likes to be up to date with the latest news. Edsby makes that easy. The News River is located at the top of everyone’s home screen.
Each school has a News River, and the district has a News River as well. Parents with children at different schools will see News Rivers from all the schools. Staff who work at multiple will see the News Rivers from all their schools as well.
Creating New News
To add an article to the News River, begin by going to the School page.
Click on the “Submit an Article” button and fill in the form with a Title, content, and an image:
When you press submit, the article goes to the School page but, is Pending and only school administrators can see it. Administrators have the choice of approving, editing, or rejecting news articles:
Once it is approved then other Edsby users will see the news headline for this item in the News River like this:
When users click on the news headline they will see the complete article:
Staff can submit articles, but only school administrators can approve an article. This enables teachers to contribute to the News River, while giving the school administration the opportunity to Edit (and Reject) and an article.
To edit a News River article after it has been approved, go to the School page and click on the Edit button.
To delete a News River article after it has been approved, go to the School page and click on the X.
